Did you know that padel was invented in Mexico? Back in 1969, Enrique Corcuera created the sport at his home in Acapulco, blending elements of tennis and squash to form what is now one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. While padel has exploded across Europe, its roots remain proudly Mexican—so we took advantage of the Reflo team being in Mexico City supporting our Formula E Teamwear partners, Jaguar TCS Racing, Nissan Formula E and Andretti Formula E in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, to explore the origins of where Padel began and discover some secrets of the city.
On our latest Hidden Gems adventure, we found ourselves in the heart of Mexico City, in the Polanco district, at an amazing spot called The Padel Co. Great coffee, unbeatable vibes, and a perfect place to get a game in - it’s everything we’d look for in a padel spot. Whether you're playing for fun or battling for bragging rights, this place delivers on and off the court.
At Reflo, we make sustainable apparel made to be moved in, and what better way than on some of the most exciting padel courts in the world. So far, we’ve had epic matches in London and Mexico City, and we’re always on the search for the next hidden gem to play - Where to next?
