Royal Birkdale is not a backdrop. It is a living, breathing world that is always shifting and evolving. The dunes have been moving since before anyone kept score here and the wind has been deciding outcomes long before we arrived. Nothing about this place stays still. The Stonechat bird watches from the gorse, unbothered by the gallery. The marram grass holds the dune in place while everything around it changes. When the last putt drops and the crowds head home, the links will still be here, as it always has been. This collection is its portrait.
