One million reasons.
Every Reflo item purchased plants one tree in our forest. We’re working with Ecologi and the Trees For The Future to make this happen.
Our mission is to plant one million trees in our first five years of business. From our sixth year onwards, we’re going to increase that goal to one million trees every year. Here’s where we’re planting them.
Madagascar
Mozambique
Reforestation sites in northwest Madagascar were established by Eden in 2007 to restore ecologically-devastated mangrove estuaries. Reviving this land helps prevent erosion and enables the Malagasy people to farm and live on the land. Since 2012, other native dry deciduous species have been planted to restore natural animal habitats. 75% of the animal species in Madagascar are found nowhere else in the world. We want to protect them for the next generation.
Coastal reforestation sites at the southernmost tip of Mozambique are revitalising the mangrove estuaries and forests that historically existed there. Our reforestation work here helps protect against erosion and improve coral reef health in the nearby ocean. Mozambique has a population that relies on the functioning of their natural resources to survive, and it’s also home to 20 endangered bird species and over 200 endemic mammal species. It’s crucial these ecosystems thrive for generations to come.
