Harry Kane Joins Team Reflo

We are delighted to announce our partnership with Harry Kane, England men’s football captain, all-time highest goal-scorer for England, and Bayern Munich striker. The partnership marks an exciting collaboration that aims to bridge the gap between sport and sustainability, championing high-performance apparel that doesn’t sacrifice the planet in its production.

Born in November 2021, Reflo focuses on sustainability, performance, and style, specialising in golf but also catering for gym goers, runners and other sports like tennis and padel.

Reflo’s performancewear is predominantly made from recycled polyester, derived from single-use plastic waste destined for landfill which results in its fabrics using 50% less energy and producing 70% less carbon than virgin polyester, requiring no new oil.

As a scratch golfer, Kane initially wore the brand at The Icons Series, playing alongside legends of various sporting disciplines. The striker has since worn Reflo behind the scenes for over a year, and now will become a golf ambassador wearing the brand officially during off-field activities away from club and country duties, including golf practice and appearances in Pro-Am and exhibition competitions.

Such is the alignment between athlete and brand, Kane is also the lead investor in Reflo’s seed funding round to support the brand in its mission to become the most sustainable performancewear brand in the world. The funding round raised circa £1million, with other investors comprising athletes, green technology, and creative services.

Kane’s commitment to self-improvement and positive environmental change aligns seamlessly with the brand’s performance and sustainability values, reinforcing the aim to shape a world where environmentally conscious choices and high-performance apparel can coexist.

Reflo recently launched its Spring-Summer collection, focusing on versatility, performance and style, with lightweight and breathable fabrics. The products are designed to work across different sporting activities, going against the belief that you need multiple products for each different sport.

The brand further extends its sustainable innovations in the latest range, including the golf industry’s first circular apparel solution, named Reloop, with garments designed to be recycled at the end of use. Also, Reflo embeds chemicals from used coffee grounds in its fabrics to enhance technical and performance features of certain garments.

Reflo continues to drive its sustainability mission throughout all aspects of its business functions including ethical production, using carefully sourced fabrics and carbon offsetting its entire workforce, whilst also pledging to plant 500 trees for every goal that the Bayern Munich and England star scores in the 2023/2024 season.

Having made his professional debut aged 17, Kane has gone on to become England men’s highest goal scorer and second highest goalscorer in the Premier League during his time with Tottenham, whilst making a very positive start in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich this season.

Reflo's co-founder, Rory Macfadyen, said: "I first met Harry last summer, when he was wearing Reflo playing golf at the Icons Series. Since then, having kept an open dialogue with Harry and his team, not only do they love the product, but they also truly believe in changing the game when it comes to sustainability and performance in sport.

“We have achieved so much in the two years since our launch, and it is an incredibly exciting time for us to welcome Harry into the Reflo family. We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve got in store as we continue our mission to become the most sustainable performancewear brand in the world.”

Harry Kane shared his enthusiasm, saying: "I'm thrilled to be joining the team here at Reflo. Their dedication to sustainability and performance in golf is inspiring, and perfectly aligns with everything that I believe in - both on and off the pitch.

“The right decisions when it comes to creating a sustainable legacy for my family are important, and having tried Reflo for over a year, I know how good they are, and I feel it is going to get bigger as we learn more about making performance-based apparel that is good for the environment".

“As a footballer, I understand the importance of pushing boundaries and setting new standards, and that’s exactly what Rory and the team have shown me. The vision for the brand is incredible, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
