Behind the podiums, training sessions and travel days are moments missed, milestones celebrated from afar, and FaceTimes squeezed in between workouts, media commitments and training.

This Father’s Day, we’re spotlighting two athletes in the Reflo network who juggle the demands of high-performance sport with the realities of being a Dad. Because being at the top of your game takes discipline, but being present as a father takes something even greater.

Read below to find out how Nissan Formula E Team driver, Oliver Rowland and Reflo investor and ambassador, Harry Kane balance high performance with family life.

Oliver Rowland – Nissan Formula E Team Driver & current ABB FIA Formula E Championship Leader and Dad of one

As the leading contender for the title this season, Oliver Rowland knows the physical and emotional energy required to stay focused under pressure, while staying connected to the people who matter most. As a father of one, with another one on the way, it’s not just pole positions and podiums that count!

Rowland says; ‘’The best way to balance family life and professional racing is to involve the family in it, so they come to the races. I try to encourage them to travel as much as I can and maximise my time at home.’’

On the challenge of balancing title charges and family, Oliver added, ‘’I guess before I had Harper, my life fully evolved around racing, whereas now it revolves around her. Racing is still a huge part but not the be all and end all of life.’’

The title contender continued: ‘’I miss the things that happen at home when I’m not there, but it’s also quite nice as she’s very excited when I get home.”

When quizzed on the mental challenge of high performance, Oliver said: ‘’Sometimes it’s hard to switch off when I get back to my family because of the pressures. Going from a podium with thousands of people cheering you on to being at home with nobody else around is very different, I only really noticed it recently.’’

On having Harper on the podium in Tokyo, he added: ‘She asked to come up as she sees the pictures at home of her up on the podium, I had no choice but to take her up!”

It seems a winning mindset runs in the family. ‘’Harper tells me to drive too fast, even when I’m driving on the road at home. She also tells me when I’m going to win - she predicts I’ll win every time which adds a bit of pressure!’’

We’re wishing Oliver and his family well this Father’s Day and the best of luck for the rest of the season with Nissan Formula E Team.

Harry Kane – England Captain, Reflo Ambassador, Dad of Four

For Harry Kane, success isn’t just measured in goals and trophies. As a father of four, the England captain and Reflo ambassador knows that true balance means being at your best both on and off the pitch.

“My family is the most important thing to me, I want to be the best dad and best husband I can be.” Kane explains. “Coming back home to my family is what keeps me grounded through the ups and downs of a football season, my family are really supportive, so I can just focus on training and playing when I’m at work, and then I enjoy my time at home with them.”

In a career built on relentless training, high-stakes games, and constant travel, finding time for family can be tough. But for Kane, it’s non-negotiable.

“I always make a real effort to be present when I’m with them. We travel a lot for matches, so it’s really important to make the most of the time I get at home. Having 4 young children means I’m kept very busy when I’m with them, there’s little chance to think about work!’’

In May, Kane clinched his first league title with Bayern Munich — a major milestone in an already decorated career. But for the man himself, one moment from the final game stood out most.

“It was amazing – I had my whole family at the match and getting to celebrate with them on the pitch after lifting the trophy made it even more special,” he says. “They also came to the trophy presentation in the city and it was great to share such a unique experience with them all.”

For Kane, football and family will always go hand in hand. That’s something we at Reflo can relate to, striving for greatness without losing sight of what matters most.

This Father’s Day, celebrate the dads, stepdads, grandads and role models who do it all.

Whether it’s hitting the gym at 6am before the school run or FaceTiming home from the paddock, these stories are a reminder that greatness isn't just measured in medals, it’s in the love, commitment and quiet moments behind the scenes. And of course none of it would be possible without the support from the whole family.

Treat your dad to something special from Reflo.
