World Earth Day is a powerful reminder of the urgent need for us all to consider more sustainable choices. At Reflo however, sustainability isn’t a once-a-year initiative—it’s at the core of everything we do. It’s woven into the fabric of our mission, every single day.
We’re here to redefine what performancewear can be. That means making conscious choices at every step—from the materials we use to how our products are made, worn, and eventually even recycled. 100% of our products are crafted using high-quality recycled materials, and produced using methods that significantly reduce the environmental impact, with the equivalent of over 2.4m plastic bottles being used in producing the products that we’ve sold since launch.
But we also aim to regenerate, as well as recycle, and so for every Reflo item purchased, we plant one tree in our forest. We’re working with Ecologi and the Trees For The Future to make this happen and our mission is to plant one million trees in our first five years of business. We’ve already starting making a significant impact, with 196,354 already planted since our launch.
As a Climate Positive workplace, we also take action to address our carbon footprint, and we do this in two key ways:
- Reduce wherever we can.
- Offset everywhere else.
That’s where our partnership with Ecologi comes in. Beyond our reforestation project, Ecologi also helps us offset the entire carbon footprint of our team.
The average person’s carbon footprint is 10 tonnes of CO2 a year. So at Reflo, we offset 14 tonnes of CO2 a year for every employee. Our contribution funds Gold Standard and Verified Carbon Standard renewable energy and carbon reduction projects around the world.
And we don’t just stop there...
We’re always pushing ourselves to continue to innovate and find ways to help us reduce the estimated 92 million tonnes of textile waste globally each year*. Our pioneering Reloop Technology is now able to close the loop, creating a circular apparel solution that is made from 100% recycled materials that are designed specifically to be fully recyclable at the end of use, and avoid being destined for landfill. Changing the sportswear game, for good, and meaning that everyone from a single customer to a multi-million dollar sports team, now have the option to make more sustainable choices.
Because progress doesn’t pause—and neither do we.
We are building the sportswear brand of tomorrow, and we’re changing the game, for good.
